PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Rita Brown is a 1986 Eastern Kentucky University School of Occupational Therapy graduate. She began
her career working in hospital settings in Ashland, KY and Knoxville, TN where she gained experience
treating a variety of diagnoses in both acute and rehabilitative care.

In 1991, Rita accepted a position in an orthopedic clinic where she found her “niche” in hand therapy. She
was able to train while working in close conjunction with hand/orthopedic surgeons and Certified Hand
Therapists. In 2002, Rita became a Certified Hand Therapist.

Rita joined the staff of Kentucky Hand & Physical Therapy in May of 2005, and will be celebrating her
20th year in practice this year!

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Rita is a Monticello, Kentucky native. She currently lives in Lexington with her husband and daughter. She
enjoys all types of outdoor activities including boating, hiking, and bike riding.
