PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Karen Clark is a 1990 graduate of Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh, Scotland. She began her career in
London, U.K. where she was able to rotate between orthopedic injury; elder care; psychiatry; and learning
disability treatment. In 1993, Karen was able to put this invaluable experience to great use - spending a
year in Voluntary Service Overseas in Katmandu, Nepal teaching local counterparts Occupational
Therapy skills.

Upon her return to London, Karen spent a year providing inpatient and outpatient care before moving to
the United States in 1994, where she developed an Occupational Therapy program for a community
hospital. In 1997, Karen achieved Neurodevelopmental Therapy certification and began to provide
coverage for a hand therapy clinic. Finding this field challenging and fun, Karen sought a position that
allowed her to devote more time to advancing her skills in hand therapy. She also gained experience in
treating lymphedema and ergonomic evaluation. Karen became a Certified Hand Therapist in November
of 1999.

Karen joined the staff of Kentucky Hand & Physical Therapy in June of 2005.
